Match Trading Task Force

Guiding the ongoing development of Match Trading®, an innovative form of grant-making to strengthen financial resilience for social enterprises, community businesses and trading charities.

Match Trading® is grant funding that pound-for-pound matches an increase in income from trading. Pioneered by the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) in 2017, Match Trading rewards sales growth, incentivising social organisations to strengthen their trading base so that they can build stronger futures.

DEI Data Group Standard V1

In August 2020, the DEI Data Group commissioned a framework to monitor equity considerations in grantmaking, with a view to including the data in published grants information. This work was funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and The National Lottery Community Fund.

DEI Data Standard Guidance V1

This guidance is intended to be for funders to support the implementation of the framework.

The guidance includes a recommendation of how funders should collect the data/frame the questions for the purpose of grants. The guidance is not intended to apply to other purposes. It is acknowledged that funders may choose to use the code-list itself for other purposes in different ways – for example for their staff profile, reporting percentages against categories.
